Welcome to the colourful and creative world of Sewunique...

Sewunique was founded in 2018 by owner Penny after she was gifted some amazing cotton underwear from Brazil, unlike anything here in Australia. After falling in love she wondered how to find more, but with no luck, decided to simply make it herself. But... it wasn't exactly simple. In fact, she'd unknowingly opened a Pandora's Box into the exciting world of lingerie creation, with no idea how much her humble sewing machine was about to change her life!

With a background in design paired with a long love for fashion and textiles, Penny initially began creating as a fun hobby, using natural/breathable fabrics, adding her own unique and quirky style to every piece. Soon friends started placing orders and before long Sewunique the business was born. Penny began selling online and at local markets, and eventually internationally and wholesale.

The original goal was to develop ethically made + stylish underwear that nobody else had. Over time Sewunique evolved to also include bras, sets, loungewear and swimwear; forever inspired by customers' suggestions and continuously releasing new and original products. Sewunique is built upon the values of quality, inclusivity, fair production and beautiful design.

All Sewunique pieces are limited edition/handmade in Byron Bay (lingerie) and Bali (swimwear), which is a conscious decision allowing us to reduce waste, minimize the environmental footprint and stay adaptable to new ideas and inspiration. We also offer custom/made to order pieces - because if there’s one thing we believe in, it’s being unique.
