FOREVER HAVING FUN IN BYRON BAY
Sewunique was born in Byron Bay, and one of the things I have enjoyed most about the journey is doing photoshoots with local brands, models and photographers at some iconic locations in our town. I really love to capture the essence of this part of the world and aim to make each shoot authentic and unique in a carefree way to reflect the natural beauty of life. It always ends up being so fun and magical. You never know what you are going to get, but it always turns out better somehow.
The latest campaign was so last minute, literally organised in two days (using the word 'organised' lightly). The shoot needed to happen urgently because some of the swimwear colours were slightly different to the samples and when they arrived I began to panic about people ordering the wrong thing! Thank goodness for Portia, my favourite female photographer who just got back from traveling and was not only able to fit me in, but also helped organise two models who were so cute and easy to work with!
The next step was the location, the beautiful and brand new Hotel Marvell, who kindly let us take over two of their free hotel rooms and rooftop pool for two hours (I still can't believe we fit everything in in such a short amount of time).
It just so happened to be rainy, and there was a construction site in the background (another hotel being built) which we couldn't avoid, so instead just rolled with the vibe on offer and tried to use it to our advantage.
I absolutely love how these images turned out - and I also love the grey industrial atmosphere because in a way it represents the 'new and forever changing' Byron Bay, which makes for a pretty interesting place to live or visit - always growing and evolving but one thing stays the same - there is still so much beauty and creativity that shines through <3
